The cross-genre/gender antics of Los Paranoias still works after all these years

June 17, 2009 popularmusicfront

Shimmering sibilance lying on blistering bass with a latin twang. Can you believe this could have emerged from what some might call the sleepy whitewashed town of Brighton on England’s fair shores??

I added the new category to this blog of ‘Latino Drone’ to try and label this, but not sure even this fits the bill.

Klang Und Schönheit
Queen B
If I Squint They Look Like Stars
The Part Of Me That Wants My Friend To Fail

All these tracks came off the album ‘If Destroyed Still True‘.

BTW, the title of this post relates to band member James Brackpool displaying some fine legs in a cocktail dress atop a piano for a promo shot. Unfortunately I can’t dig it up right now. Bummer.
